Specializing in Anxiety, Depression and Coping Skills for Life's Hurdles

Anxiety

Anxiety is a normal human emotion that everyone experiences from time to time. It's often characterized by feelings of worry, nervousness, or fear, and can be triggered by a variety of situations or circumstances. While some level of anxiety can be beneficial, helping us stay alert and focused in stressful situations, excessive or chronic anxiety can be overwhelming and interfere with daily life.

Depression

Depression is a common mental health condition that can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. It's characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities that were once enjoyable. Depression can also cause a range of physical symptoms, such as fatigue, changes in appetite, and sleep disturbances.

Relationships

Therapy can be a powerful tool for improving relationships, whether it's a romantic partnership, family relationship, or friendship. One of the biggest benefits of therapy is that it provides a safe and supportive environment where individuals can communicate openly and honestly about their thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgment or criticism.

College

Graduating from high school and leaving for college can be exciting, freeing, overwhelming and at times stressful. Therapy can be a valuable resource for individuals during this time of change and adjustment. One of the main benefits of therapy for college students is that it provides a safe and supportive space for students to explore their thoughts and feelings, and to receive guidance and support from a trained professional.

Life Transitions

Life transitions can be challenging, whether it's starting a new job, ending a relationship, or experiencing a major life change. Therapy can help individuals develop coping skills to manage the stress and uncertainty that often accompany life transitions. It can also provide a space for individuals to process their emotions and work through any challenges or obstacles that may arise.

Adolescence

Adolescence is a time of significant change and development, both physically and emotionally. Therapy can be a valuable resource for adolescents during this time, helping them navigate the challenges of growing up and building resilience for the future. Adolescents may be dealing with a variety of issues, such as peer pressure, academic stress, family conflicts, and mental health concerns, and therapy can provide them with the support and guidance in a safe and confidential space.

Check with your insurance plan to see if you have out of network benefits for mental health. If you do, individual and family sessions are typically reimbursable under out-of-network mental health services. However, the amount of reimbursement varies greatly dependent upon the plan. I can assist by providing documentation that you can submit to your insurance agency.
